a pleasant days Bass'n on my local Duck Pond
« on: January 23, 2011, 05:20:47 PM »
The rusty water/s in my next of the woods still need some well earned recovery time, therefore my paddle/ fish fix turned me in the direction of "The Duck Pond".
Was my first visit to the lake this summer, however I'll be back again this week  8)
Didn't hit the water till about 6.30 a.m. but luckily found the fish still well and truly "in the mood".
I've not see such a hot session in a long, long time.  :o
Within what seemed to be a very short period of time I'd boated over 20 Bass in the 30-40cm size range ( best one pictured went 42 ) fish where coming in on every cast at one stage, if I'd missed on a particular cast I found myself thinking oops what's gone wrong ( ridiculous as it may seem ).When I say over 20 fish, well that's about were I stopped counting, I suppose close to 30 Bass were caught and released on the day. What an enjoyable time I had trying different lures, retrieves etc. but most everything worked so in hindsight it wasn't really research and skill development stuff, was it. Must go back and see what happens in the next day or so.  :D

Doug sounds like the sort of day its nice to look back on and relive mate.

BTW unrelated....had a look at my first Nativecraft pedal drive yak today and really impressed mate, although being on one lifting handle was interesting as it is no light weight to carry, the owner has had it for about a year and is very happy.
cheers RICHO

Must have Wes. Tide wasn't right according to Steve. Try early next week when they are better.
