Flopy Lures in box

While there's still some Flopy Lures kicking around, this set is a little rare in that these are in the original display box. Made in France

Eventually. someone will reprodruce them on mass. Then we will find out if they are still a weapon or that they were just a precursor for some of the lures available now.

As one who was very much involved in the fishing industry when this box of lures was likely to be sitting on the counter of many Sports Stores in Victoria and New South Wales, I can say that they were all they are now cracked up to be.  In their day, there was not a lure that could compete with them for catching our major freshwater species, which were Redfin, Yellowbelly (Callop down south), Bass and Murray Cod.  Available in three sizes, the smallest was ideal for casting to Redfin, Trout and Bass.  Very light in weight, there was never much distance possible even on 6lb line.  With the adjustable bib, most Bass fishoes would have it set to shallow dive, and some even removed the bib all together to turn it into a surface lure.  The medium size, while the least popular seller, was still useful on Reddies and Callop in the rivers.  The Large size was the big seller, capable of handling Cod, Callop and Reddies on the troll, it was responsible for some huge Cod.  Dad's best was 72lb on a large Green Flopy, and one of his mates landed one over 100lb on a Flopy.  They took over from the Aeroplane Spinner as the go to lure, and only dropped in favour after the release of the Helin Flatfish in T60 and T50 (6" and 5" sizes.)
I still give them a throw around the river and I know a lot of others who do too.
