Hi all
just curious does anyone know the results of the 2014 Burrendong Classic for 2014
Burrendong will be the area we fish as our closest river is the darling and with water as low as it is, fishing is disappointing
Any tips on baits etc would be appreciated. we will also fish Cowra and Mudgee
Any help would be appreciated

Bait works well out at the dam and in rivers. Yabbies, shrimp and worms are all popular.
I'm becoming a big fan of soft plastics for Burrendong. I am starting to get some decent yellowbelly using them.

Thanks For that
Will Try all aspects when we hit the water
Not much action out our way only carp. Have seen some nice photos of yellowbelly out of Burrendong

This was the best I managed during the comp. Caught on a black plastic from native lures.

Nice fish we used to get them out our way but the rivers are full of carp. We have purchased some Jackal and stump jumpers for the dam
We just got a new boat was going to take on the fishing comp but chickened out.
Can Any one help with info on fishing in the winter months on the dams.

That's interesting. I broke my new boat in at the comp. I didn't get a fish for two days and was starting to worry. Came good in the end.
As far as I am aware the same techniques apply in winter as summer. Just tends to be a bit harder work for the result.
With your lures, I think purple and black and red and black are the most successful. Then yellow and black after that. Jackals in purple seem to go ok as well.

Thanks again
Next time we are in Dubbo we will look at some plastics I have never used them
We are just in the middle of setting our selves up with new gear. We have always been keen fishers but only with worms and shrimps
But like every thing preparation is the key.
