« on: March 09, 2018, 12:22:03 PM »
Dose any one know how much rain it will take before Wivenhoe dam spills? Last time I looked it was at 70% or so . And theres ment to be 1400mm of rain coming next week could be interesting if spills lots of bass and perch in river.
Cheers Joseph

If 1400mm of rain falls next week Brisbane and Ipswich will be under water! Wivenhoe is not going to fill any time soon given current forecasts. Plus, just to clarify, Wivenhoe doesn’t “spill” so to speak unless things are really dire (I think it came close in 2011). Wivenhoe is controlled by gates that are opened to release water as required depending on expected inflows.
