Title: Depth of water, Brisbane River, Upstream from Twin Bridges
Post by: Muzfox on August 26, 2014, 01:27:01 PM
Hi Guys, trying to get a hall pass to go fishing, I've always wanted to fish the Brisbane River but have always been a bit hesitant, never been there before.

From reading the threads, it appears we can fish for bass if it's non tidal (know opening season is around the corner anyway) but I'm hoping to get out this weekend if at all possible.

Can someone clue me in on the depths from launching at twin bridges and heading upstream, would it be okay to use the mirage drive (standard fins) on my outback going up that way?

There's a bit near Beavers' where is narrows down and gets snaggy that may be awkward with the Mirage drive but the rest is OK.

Just take it easy mate, use your polaroid Sunnies. Plenty of spots along the river to put in, however I did notice new signage at the access point to the river under the main highway bridge today. Sign states all vehicle access & camping prohibited. Lot of people use this area to camp & play in there 4wd's. Area was quite clean today only took one bag of rubbish away.

Cheers Andrew
