Well not long now guys & gals and finally I've managed to get a couple of days off work to coincide with the beginning of spring, Yippee!!! I'm not sure where I'm going yet, maybe the upper reaches of the Brissie, maybe the Tweed, fingers crossed for fine hot weather though! :thumbsup

HAHAHAHA I was just about to post up a Bass countown myself. I'm up the Sunshine Coast this week and after some very heavy rain at times here yesterday I drove up & had a look at the upper Stanley River around Peachester. Water was thundering down & starting to dirty up down around Woodford. Not the closed season applies to that river, but I'm definately getting itchy. Staying at Yandina tonight & took a walk down to the Maroochy River on dusk, was thinking I'd be itching to peg a lure or two about now.
Next week is going to see some good fish caught... I can feel a cough starting already.......

Where to go that is the question..... :?)
Up the river, down the river; bank, boat or yak...
I'm thinking of shooting the gorgey section.

A good launching spot hey? :thumb Do you have a chainsaw to clean up a couple of those logs at the bottom of the track?
There should be something down from there are the pump inlet (look for the mid stream obstruction), or up at the log jam. Have pulled yellowbelly at the small cliff/waterfall just up from there.
If you shoot down the rapids at Lowood there will be some bass through those boulders there & around the old bridge pylons a bit further down.
Wivenhoe Comp

I'll be workin' for the first couple of days, then I'm hitting Wivenhoe. I reckon the river will look like Queen Street on the first weekend.
-
Well hoping to land my first bass would be a good bet... :)
Thinking of biting the bullet and purchasing a yak to... :)) but we will see how my finances are...

Too much pressure, I've had to make a list.
Last count I've got 17 creeks and rivers to choose from that I know hold Bass within an hours drive from my place, and with the Bass State of Origin in the back of ones mind and with Queenslands reputation at stake, these important desicions need time and careful concideration over a few light ales or a Rum or two.
Either way, I hope the rain stays away, the creeks keep clean and long as my backside points to the ground come the 1st of September, I'll be up before the sun somewhere chasing'em. :youbeauty
Cheers Dave
PS. My fellow Queenslanders, don't rely on me on breaking any records, knowing my luck I'll get my PB Bass yak side and lose the bloody thing.

I wonder if farmers Brown & Smith down the road have pulled that fence down yet? If so can drive the car right to the water down the bottom of that hole & launch there.

Ahh the old Purple Sweetwater Cap. Well travelled and well used. Witness to many meritorious captures. Met its ultimate demise at Hervey Bay.
-
I'll have to go south if I want any decent Bass water at the moment. The Richmond, Wilson and Clarence all look like choc milkshakes. I'll just wait it out and avoid the bunrush methinks.

Nice thoughts guys but with another weekend upon us and the week ahead before the big day there appears to be some wet stuff again falling from the sky. The forecast doesn't look good for some clear water on the 1st....just typical of the weather gods...
Cheers

The criks out this way are running brown.... still dont let it discourage the brave.

Who would want to buy it? It's purple for f... sake. Still better than floating around on a tampon. Weighs about 10kgs less too.
I'll be running late on Thursday. On kidlet duty for school drop off. Leave some for me!
