Be aware of nesting catfish at Moogerah Dam
 Date: 30/10/2015   - from Seqwater

There have been reports of nesting eel-tail catfish in the designated swimming area at Moogerah Dam.

Catfish are very protective of their nest while they have eggs, however they do not have sharp teeth or poisonous spines, but they will nip to ward off anything that comes too close.

The breeding season generally only lasts a few weeks, so please be aware of the catfish if you choose to swim.

Their spines may not be poisonous (?) but they hurt a LOT. Trust me....
