somerset with the kids
« on: October 06, 2010, 10:09:20 PM »
took the kids out on sunday for a chance at some bass on the last day of their holidays, it was a great over cast day and fairly comfortable weather for the kids. we hit pelican point in the depth range of 7-10mtrs, we used fysshe somerset 7mtr lures in purple/white, black/red and a couple of other 7 mtr lures like ridge back and viper. brandon caught his pb bass of 43cm and was stoked , my son bailey caught his first and my daughter just watched on for the daay and was just happy to be in the boat. my mate michael and i caught a few bass aswell, final tally was about 30 bass ranging from 28cm-43cm. fun day out for the kiddies and they can not wait to get some more bass with 50cm bass in their sights!

And if trolling, the first rod that goes off belongs to the kid as well. As a result, my son kicks my butt every bloody time, BUT he's now into casting, so we're back onto level ground. Going forward i'll not be so content to let the young upstart hang it on me for beating the old fella.
