Title: Fish eyes

Took these shots yesterday, all shot reeled off one after another from the same position.

Check the eyes, not sure what's happening there but pretty confident in saying that I've never noticed it before.

Anyone have any idea???

Max Garth from WA has posted about the effect of a flash on Barra's eyes. 
I have plagerised the paragraphs below.  I don't know if this is fact or not.

Barra have a reflective eye, and when pics are taken with flash, the eye comes up as very bright or normal depending on whether it is in grey scale, black/white visual mode, with the tapetum lucidum operating, or normal with the colour vision operating.This depends a lot on time of day, water clarity,etc.
There was some scientific stuff done on barra vision in Qld. Might be on a university web site in Qld.
Generally speaking you can get an idea of what mode the barra is in, if you take a pic with flash, and using a digital camera, have a geek at the result and get the colour or not visual mode information.  This then gives you an idea on fly colour, with grey scale, colour doesn't matter but it will if the fish is in colour mode.

Not sure about colour modes, I thought it may just be the pupils reacting to the flash.

Saw something like that on a site recently Dale, hence it pricked my mind when I saw it.

That's all he had to say on it.  I've googled looking for a University study and cannot find it.
