May be possible to do something similar for Marys but no resources to enforce it so it would be a waste of time,.
 Be political suicide to try and bring in for murrays ,

It was possible in South Australia because anglers recognised they had a real issue with the survival of Murray Cod.  Sadly, nobody up here seems to think the same with the Mary River Cod.  While Stocking Groups continue to promote it as a recreational species, anglers will continue to target them without realising the distinction between a stocked impoundment and a healthy river system.  I'm not sure if it is selfishness by Queensland's anglers, or the fact that they have never really lost a recreational target species and don't realise that it is a very real threat.  I doubt it would be political suicide, considering the vast majority of Queenslanders probably have very little idea that Murray Cod and Mary River Cod exist in some of our southern waterways.

I'd like to see something similar for the Murray Cod here in QLD.
It might sort out some of the meato's.
