wivenhoe sunday
« on: September 27, 2010, 08:02:34 PM »
hit wivenhoe for the first time on sunday for a bass fish. bumped into paul at the ramp which was a godsend as the gps i had was not working so he showed me where i needed to be. what an awesome day to say the least. got 25 bass with 7 going over 50 with the 2 biggest hitting the 54cm mark. after only ever catching bass at hinze this was a massive wake up call to how massive these things can get. nearly all fish were caught on a little max half oz in ayu.
enjoy the pics guys and i know i'll be back

cheers matt

G'Day Matt,

Good to see you had a good first session on Lake Wivenhoe...  :tick
The fat females have been a bit late coming on this season but they're still feeding well by the recent reports.
Fingers crossed they will keep feeding well into spring.

Fitz..

Nice fish out there on Sunday mate.  Just a tip, that bottom photo could be incriminating.  Three fish on board, one set of feet?

Not sure if you're aware, but three in your well is still illegal.

The law states two in your posession, doesn't matter if they're alive or dead.  Most people don't keep them in a live well unless they need to weigh them in for a comp.  It's far better for the fish if you catch it, get a quick photo if you want it and then either release it or despatch it quickly for a feed.  The longer they spend in a livewell the less their chances of survival.

Now now fullas are we adults or kids ? everyone makes mistakes sometimes its best to just realise someone is trying to help with a bit of friendly advice and not think they are making a personall attack.

Great fish tho

cheers

Matt,
I've edited out your profanities, which are not welcome here.  As you admitted, you were not aware of the laws controlling fresh water fishing and I thought it prudent to let you know that no matter what you thought, it is illegal to have more than two fish in your live well.  I may just have saved you from a fine the next time you do it.  As far as saying there was someone else in the boat with you, who do you think was in the boat beside you out there?

sorry guys for getting a bit burred up i probably jumped the gun a bit i did know about the 2 in possession rule but didnt realise that rangers would get into you if they were only there to keep a school from shutting down. i'd like to keep some respect here on this forum s i intend to give a bit more myself so i'll apoplogise to you dale and retract my earlier comments and start to talk more fishing rather than that other garbage.

cheers matt
