I was talking to the manufacturer today
A 20hp equivalent electric motor he makes pushes 4mtr tinny at 20knots!
He has a 30hp motor that can push the same tinny at over 45km/h!!!

I would love to believe that a break through has been made, but if this guy is fair dinkum, his 2hp Solar power motor defies what scientists have been saying for hundreds of years. He has invented perpetual motion. This will solve the world of all it's fuel problems, there'll be no need for a carbon tax now. Boat motors first, and then cars, trucks, trains, planes, earthmoving equipment. This guy's a genius, he'll put all the oil companies out of business with his discovery.
If the video is of his 20hp Electric, it's not 20hp either. If you can't get an Explorer to plane with a 15 you have issues.

I reckon he has his hand on it and its not the tiller.
Looking at the so called 2hp 24 volt package he is selling.
1.2 kw does not equal 2 hp more like 1.5.
if it is a 1.2 kh motor that means that it will drag 50 amps flat out so with a 50 a/h battery you will realistically only get 3/4 of an hours running.
Only providing 50 amp cable so no allowance for voltage drop.
90 watt solar panel will provide just under 4 amps so will take a couple of days to recharge the battery.
I reckon whole package is a waste of money.

The 22kw was released at the Santuary Cove boat show, they had it running in a test tank.
The motor is dead quiet , you would not know it was running if you didnt see the prop wash
Would be nice to hear some feedback if someone has one.

There has been some big breakthroughs in what electric motors can do recently, and in the future it will only get better
This guy is based in Cairns, and is creating new product at the edge of world technology
I am going to try his battery, as it is far lighter than anything else, just a pity they are still very expensive, but they are coming down in price.
Watch the fuel cell technology over the next few years

You've gotta make allowances for the "pocket" nuclear powerplant. Whilst not of the Los Angeles class sub size it must still weigh some. The fuel rods too...
