Billy's Bay Wivenhoe
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:01:48 AM »
Decide to take a trial redundancy day yesterday & headed up to Big W for a look see. First thing I noticed was the amount of pelicans that were about, must be getting too crowded out west for them.
The water clarity has improved, unfortunately the fishig has not. Put in at Billy's Bay at 1100 & trolled up into Northbrook creek where I have found schooled fish previously. Spotted a number of fish on the sounder but no decent schools, none of the fish seemed keen to eat. Water temp was 16 to 18 degrees. Will have to get back up there soon & check out what is happening out from Hays, it has got to start picking up soon.

Cheers Andrew

I did a quick scouting run the other sunday from Logans Inlet. Only got out from the bay when the wind got up & the lad was getting cold so we didn't stay long. Did some crazy ivans over the breaklines and spotted a few scattered fish on the humminbird, we didn't stop and fish, the lad wasn't enjoying the weather much.
As we got there the ABT guys were packing up. I saw one fish in a livewell that went 2.5kg so there's some nice ones out there getting caught.  :thumbsup

Cheers,

Hey Andrew,
Did you happen to see if Somerset has improved yet?

I come from the other end John. Not sure what you mean by improved, drove past there two weeks ago & the water colour is a lot better than Wivenhoe but have not fished it for a while & reports seem a bit light on at the moment. Always worth a shot though, sure beats working. ;D

Cheers Andrew
