Yes, it's true.  1,600 Barra are being released today into Hazelwood Mine cooling pond, near Morwell.

Yeah! it's closed to fishing for 6 months to see how they get on - growth etc. Dad's bro-in-law used to own the barra park on the Sunshine Coast and reckons 28C was their feeding temp. Be interesting to see if they feed in Vic if it is only going to be 22C - yet again, that could be the "average" yearly temp but I'm not dead sure of the max temp in summer.

EDIT: 22C is the minimum temp... Hopefully it gets up around 28C in summer. :)
