If they announce their plans to open Wivenhoe to powered craft before then they'll be swamped with offers.

Going by what happened at Kirkleagh at Somerset, be prepared for camping prices to increase threefold or more in short order.

Again, depending on the lease holders, this could mean no more kayak convention. *
Note that the Kirkleagh Klassic is no more due in part, to the bad attitude from management of the park when the last one was held.

Can only wait and see....... And hope........

That's right the rec plan for Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams is due now this month so that mean's any day now and the cut off date is early June for the management rights for the camp grounds, I would think there are a few companies/businesses sweating on that rec plan to be released.

Yes price's will go straight thru the roof, with the population increase in SE Qld and the fact that Seqwater never ever advertised those camp grounds, they are agold mine in the right hands, will be interesting time between now and 1st July thats for sure...!

What's the betting that someone with the inside word on boating changes at Wivenhoe gets this on the cheap.

No boat ramp at either ground though. That would improve value immensely for camping etc electric or petrol.

That doesn't affect Cressbrook, Monduran, Peter Faust, Awoonga and Borumba.

Four year uni course in conservation & land management, & I think you need to be able to spell.

Brother is halfway there... done the courses and have the pieces of paper like a true hero but you cannot get into parks and water rangers job if one opens up they just fill it with an already hired gun.

The papers is one thing but maybe roughly 98% of the time they don't want to know you unless you have had a few years with conservation and restoration experience.

Currently my brother is working for the north stradbroke mines planting over 200,000 native trees for the revegetation project over 10 weeks.

He might get the job he wants one day but there are allot of hard yards to do before you get even close... Besides all that they are basically glorified greenies.

Pretty sure being able to spell is essential thanks Andrew  :Clap)  ;D

After 30 odd years off doing what I had to do, I too thought I would like to go down the Conservation & Land Management path, but as stated even after four years at uni, you were still pushing s--t uphill to find a job. Think I will stick to releasing fish & planting trees.

Cheers Andrew

I've done all the uni and tafe course many years ago, even with a commercial fisheries background and no look in.

Those agencies already have people lined up from within their organisation or other government agencies.

And all the cr@p with addressing Key Selection Criteria , now changed to some other wording.

It's only by law they have to advertise job vacancies in the media.

What chance does someone who has no background or been out of the workforce has against those who are currently within an agency...simply put, nepotism and cronyism is alive and thrives.

That's my view and I stick with it until proven otherwise.
