Alabamah Rig

Anyone comtemplating using these in the fresh, forget it as I found out from Daff they are not legal. You face the same fine as using more than one hook. If you rig it with 4 teasers and one hook its OK.

...and if you read into the Qld Fisheries Act you will note that a lure with multiple hooks is also illegal, however they choose to "interpret" a lure with multiple hooks as one hook.

When i walked into the lure show i seen one of these. I had seen how they use them in the usa bass tournaments. I thought after seeing them they be totally illegal as they got more then one hook. I asked the bloke at the stand if legal or not but didnt really answer my question. He did say that you could rig 5 soft plastics and run the middle one back a bit and have a hook in it which kind of made sence and wouldnt be illegal. Just a thought. I really think they would work here on our schooling bass.

How rugged are they really? A big cod or a horde of maruding forkies would absolutely own something like that I reckon.

One tow hook = one lure in my book.  No different to using a Spinnerbait rigged with a soft plastic trailer!  And the micro versions do work on our Bass,  don't ask me where or when.

If it has the potential to catch more than one fish as far as DAFF are concerned its not legal. Although it has happened you dont usualy catch 2 fish on a s/bait.

Not my kind of fishing.  Unless you can bait it up and haul in 5 or 6 Tilapia at one time.
