Brisbane River @Harpeng rd.
« on: February 25, 2017, 09:30:19 AM »
Last night had a quick flick down at Harpeng rd. I have another WS Aspire105 to give a shakedown. I have installed the usual gear, rear rod holders, hobie horizontal rod holders, anchor system and a bung for the cockpit.

It was quite late when I launched.

Wivy must have increased their release rate, the river level is a foot or so higher than normal.

The cockpit layout is just as my other Aspire105.

I managed to get a couple of cracking high 40 sized Bass on a Pompadore (geez the hooks which come with these lures are rubbish, surprising on such an expensive lure).

There's a few haters amongst my mates on the colour of the yak, but the frogs at home love it.

Cheers,
Dave.

Went down there this morning. No bass, just a whopper male tilapia that was dispatched and buried later. Saw a bloke and his little son hook a monster lungy that gave the little guy some curry. The lungy won his freedom at the side of their yak.

Nice kayak. Did the owner allow a part payment to allow its relocation to your place?

Ask no questions and be told no lies.

I hear you are busting poppy out of the nursing home for a barra trip.

The ol fella is soo excited, he's had his mobility scooter all charged up for weeks.
