12-13 bass season
« on: June 02, 2013, 07:50:35 PM »
Hi guys, here is some pics from the better bass landed this season. We had best results on spinnerbaits and vibes. I did try some plastics but either would end up getting done over in the snags or nothing. Haven't thrown any surface lures for em for a couple of years now, just curious what other lures have been working well. Has anyone had any success on surface in the deeper holes or just the shallow creeks?

(you all probably know who the ugly fella is in the last pic)

Cheers, Mick.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.  :thumb

From the reports I've heard, I reckon suspending minnows have done well this season. For me, it's pretty rare I don't have a spinnerbait tied on at least one rod.

Steve got me into the baitcasters and spinnerbaits and now we both take 2 rods, one with a spinnerbait (baitcaster) and the other rod get used for a mix of lures.

Are the guys casting the suspending lures into snags and working it?

I use a lot of suspending lures, like to cast them into the snags and twitch the hell out of them. You lose a few when you're not on the ball though. After the heavy rains we had I switched over to mainly bibless cranks though  :youbeauty

I use a predatek boomerang to death.. its nearly white from being smashed so much, change of hooks to some decoys and it nearly suspends. Aside from that our last run up the from Harpeng we pulled dozen or more in short time from schools in the guts of the river by slow hopping small blades through them.  All fun really ;)
