Hi Fitzy,

Did I catch anything? No. The wife has stolen my fishing mojo lately , and she only caught 3 forkies there yesterday . The water is quite dirty at the moment , and there are small patches of weed  , but saw plenty of fish on the sounder . The whole section is a pretty consistent 7-8 metres deep , lots of drowned trees along the edges. The GPS says its a 5km paddle down to the junction with the Stanley River.

Cheers,
Dave.

Paddled upstream of O'sheas Crossing this afternoon . The water clarity is about as good as it gets for Wivenhoe . No weeds at all to clog lures at the present :) Saw plenty of Tilapia being slayed by some young fellas on the bank in front of the picnic area .

Water clarity is pretty good

A new snag since the 2011 flood

Business as usual , landholder allows stock right to the edge of the bank

Cheers,
Dave.

Did you go up to Gregors?, new bridge is fancy

Water still dirty up there but as you said it was cleaner at O'sheas. Was going to put in up there over next week end

I just went up past that first corner . Had a kayak newbie with me , he fed the catfish while I was flicking some spinnerbaits .

Yeah , I noticed the water clarity change a little as I got further up that next reach from the first corner .

Cheers,
Dave.

hey everyone. New to the forum but i have been following the site for a while. Been interested in the reports on this part of the river. Years ago (approx 10 to 15) we use to fish more up towards the somerset wall and use to get awsome bass. I have many a memorys of my brother an i in our 10 foot punt catching big bass and massive yellas. Our best day was over 45 fish each all over 45cm. All on 10foot oargee peewees. Was unreal. Due to then upgrading to a bigger boat we seemed to move away from our little tinney and our river fishing. But i feel the lure of wivenhoes upper reaches calling me again and finding the ten foot tinnie thats been sitting under a tree for years. We never used to fish near this bridge but mates use to put in there and head up to where the 2 rivers join. They say it use to be awsome. Have yous fished there and what is it like? And has any1 tried the tree lined parts just down from somerset wall under the 1st bridge? Years ago these areas all use to hold good fish. If so many fish went over wivenhoes wall how many went over somersets and are now lurking up in these waters!?
Cheers Jordo
