Title: Leslie dam, where have all the yellow belly gone
Post by: Rodney Butler on May 29, 2011, 07:27:52 AM
I went fishing at Leslie dam yesterday chasing yellow belly, sounded a few fish but caught 0.  Any suggestions on how to catch em when it cools down?

G'Day Rodney,
You can still catch them right through, but I've found spring the best time. It could have just been a slow day so you may not have been doing anything wrong, tho I'd be inclined once Ive found some arches on the sounder to stick to them & rotate tactics; lures, direction of retrieve, speed, horizontal Vs vertical etc.

Sometimes they just aint biting, others you need to be there when the feed window opens.

fitz..

Thanks Fitzy, Will give them a go on the Queen’s birthday week end at Glenlyon, mind you if I get one it will be a by-product as I'm gunning for cod.
