Title: copeton dam.
Post by: timt1566 on December 02, 2010, 11:25:03 AM
Hi everyone. Me and my dad are heading to copeton on sunday and i was wondering if the recent inflow of water has effected the fishing especially for cod. I was thinking maybe they would be around the edges foraging the newlly coverd ground. but  then too much water coming in would just shut them down. Could any one try and shed some light on this for me. and any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks .

Tim,

Here is a link to a recently discussed topic on Copeton Dam.  Its only about 5 days old and does have reference to Closed seaon for Cod.  I am not versed in the closed seasons on Cod so someone may be able to elaborate on that.

Hope this helps  :)

Cod season is now open.  I've only been to Copeton a couple of times and it was pretty empty then.  Most concentrate on the timbered areas, but the shallow banks may be worth a try.  I'd be packing some big heavy spinnerbaits, with gold blades if the water is dirty.  Good luck, let us know how you go.
