Lake Baroon remains closed to swimming but re-opens to other water recreation (Thursday, 14 November) - SEQWater

As a precautionary measure and in the interest of public safety, Lake Baroon swimming areas remain temporarily closed; however, the lake has been re-opened to all on water activities, such as kayaking.

Most recent water quality test results indicate that the lake remains unsuitable for any activity involving primary contact with the water. Please note there are no increased risks to users of the land-based recreational areas.

Seqwater will continue to perform water quality testing at Lake Baroon, and the lake will be reopened as soon as possible.

For further information please see the Seqwater blue-green algae fact sheet (http://previous.seqwater.com.au/public/sites/default/files/userfiles/file/pdfs/Blue-green%20algae%20fact%20sheet%20Oct2011.pdf).
