Probably 15 - 18 years or so back I saw Harro switch gear and do the similar to fish some heavy lily covered water up north for barramundi. Managed to get an 8 inch plastic in under the weeds; and it worked very quickly as a solid meter + barra came to the boat in short order, though we did have to plough the boat into the weed to net the barra.
