Warwick area fishing report 5/8/15

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam anglers reported on plenty of Golden Perch being landed over the weekend, mainly due to the beautiful weather conditions.  Anglers using saltwater yabbies and frozen shrimp had success up near the Black Boys and over near the Ski Club.  There were a few fish landed in the deeper water in the main basin.  Blades, mask vibes and deeper trolled hard body lures worked very well for the lure anglers.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: There was several quality Bass landed at Moogerah over the past week.  Anglers landed a few fish in the timber on shrimps.  The lure anglers had the best results in the main basin while fishing the schooled fish.  Soft plastics are working the best at the moment as most fish are suspended.  Ice-jigs, blades and tail spinners are also hooking the fish close to the bottom.  Bass at Maroon have also been quite active.  There was several quality Bass landed on bait, with shrimps being the most successful.  One local angler also managed a few nice fish while casting OSP Dunks into the weed edges.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is definitely worth a try, with several anglers landing some nice fish over the past week.  Spinnerbaits accounted for some nice fish to the east of Warwick.  We received reports of two legal sized Murray Cod being landed over the weekend.  There have been several smaller Murray Cod landed in the Murrays Bridge and Canningvale areas.  Just below the Bacon Factory and the Mill Hole are also spots worth a try, with anglers having success on shrimps over the weekend.  One young local angler and his father bagged two legal sized Golden Perch on Sunday afternoon.
