Nagambie on Water (NOW) Festival

Nagambie On Water (NOW) is an annual festival that celebrates the wonderful environs surrounding the Nagambie township. Water is central to the festival with the majority of activities completed on or near Lake Nagambie.

On Sunday 6th March, Buckley Park will become a fishing mecca with a wide range of events and displays on offer to educate and inform all ages and abilities about the fishing opportunities in the region. Activities for the day include:-
- a family fishing event run from 8am - 3pm where keen fisher people of all ages can bring in their catch to be weighed and measured, with a great selection of fishing goods on offer for the those that participate. The emphasis will be on what is a legal catch, legal lengths, what to take and what not to take i.e. responsible sustainable fishing practices.
- Flathead Fred will be along to teach the kids about good manners and behaviour when fishing along with skills and tips for catching his specialty - Flathead.
- The Fisheries Department from DPI will be bringing along their trailer about Fish Management.
- Steven Threlfall from Trellies Fishing in Shepparton representing the Recreational Fishing Association will be having a large display and offering giveaways and advice on equipment.
- Fly fishing demonstrations by James Nicholson, an enthusiastic17 year old, and training on knot and fly tying, specifically his very successful Cod Flies and how to present into the water. In conjunction with this representatives from the Victorian Fly Fishing Clubs will be setting up a display and offering advice and giveaways.

Festival Events in 2011 include:
Moomba Master's Ski Display; Park to Pub and back open water swim; Classic Car display; Walk On Water competition; Fishing competition; Come and try water sports activities: Sailing, Canoeing, Rowing, Dragon Boating ; Market Stalls with local produce; Carnival Rides; Live Entertainment.
