Warwick Region Fishing Report 21/1/15

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has continued to be a little slow again this week.  However, there was a lovely Murray Cod, weighing approximately 60 pound, landed while trolling in front of the boat ramps.  There were also some nice Golden Perch landed on blades as well the usual hard body lures.  It has been a little quiet for the bait anglers, with only a few legal fish caught.

CONNOLLY DAM: There have been a few undersized Murray Cod landed in Connolly Dam over the weekend.  Spinnerbaits proves to be the most successful lure.  There were also a few nice Golden Perch land off the bank on saltwater yabbies.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM : Moogerah Dam continues to be reasonably hard going, with anglers landing a few nice Bass up in the timbered area.  These fish were landed on a variety of lures, with Imakatsu Paranhas and TN60 Jackalls proving to be the most successful. The majority were caught while trolling with a few being landed while casting the structure.  There is plenty of fish to be sounded in various spots around the dam, however the heavy boating traffic has made in quite hard to target these fish.

RIVER AND CREEKS: The rivers and creeks around the local area have been fishing quite consistently over the past few weeks.  There was a massive 130cm Murray Cod landed in the Stanthorpe area (see attached picture), with a few anglers landing some smaller Murray Cod to the south of Warwick.
There were some nice Golden Perch landed in the Condamine River in the Murrays Bridge area as well as near the Scots College Weir.  All these fish were landed on lures.
