Not much up that far. Too many non-fish friendly weirs for the likes of bass to negotiate . Spangled perch and eel tailed catfish will be there though.

Nearest stocked impoundments would be Lake Dyer and Akinsons Dam, may be worth having a sniff in the sections of stream below each of these lakes as both have had significant spills in the past few years.

Cheers,
Dave.

Before white man cleared  the Lockyer valley and turned it into a salad bowl, cod( Brisbane river cod or an equivalent east coast strain) was said to have inhabited the water courses well up into the high sandstone country , north west of Helidon. Buraba creek used to be a series of deep rock pools before all the silt arrived.

Have caught eel-tailed catties and eels in the Lockyer around that area. No luck with bass or yellas. Agree, probrably the weirs. Don't worry about Atkinson, it dried up completely in the drought before 2011.

Atkinson's Dam got to 0% but there was still water in there which was the original lagoon level. The Saratoga were happy enough in the 7 Mile Channel

Ditto, been over there a few times over summer for a look, wall to wall wave boats, although when Akky Dam is full there's some good water in the upper reaches that the lake lice wont go thru due to the trees.
