When Google Earth can be your friend. Due to lack of options with access to Lake Somerset,I stumbled onto this little beauty .

The council even mows the grass at the launch site

The dam when at 100% full backs right up next to the road on the hairpin bend. A very easy launch in a yak or canoe. And no gates or seqwater signs anywhere in the area, not even a fence to deal with, what a refreshing change. Should be a lot more of it.

I backed one of my boats in there several years ago. All was ok, but had a note on the windscreen saying it was not a public launching spot. Will dig for info on status of land there..........
