I'm assuming you mean the Brisbane River??

I'm pretty sure there is offically no camping permitted at any of the public access points along the Brisbane River. So if you do camp, don't get upset if the local constabulary gives you a toe up the pants. People do camp at some of those spots, some get booted, some get away with it. Being a local I commonly see the following:
- tents pitched right on the edge of the water where people normally launch boats, canoes or kayaks,
- tents pitched in the middle of an access track,
- rubbish left laying about including broken glass,
- fires left burning,
- turds behind trees & paper left to float in the wind.

If you do camp, please do it with consideration for others.

There may be a private property that will allow camping for a fee. This will stop the local boys in blue evicting you.

Cheers,

not very good fishing at savages

Maybe not great if fishing from the bank, but most public access points are the same, a thousand worms and prawns get drowned there every day on weekends.

Going down stream a km or two in a canoe can see great fishing. Investing in a kayak or canoe makes a massive difference to fishing rivers / creeks.
