Post by: Editor on February 10, 2016, 10:00:36 AM
Changed access to boat ramps

Hydro Tasmania and Marine and Safety Tasmania advise that low water levels have affected the availability of boat ramps at three lakes.

Lake Echo
The Lake Echo Dam boat ramp has been closed. The remaining two formal ramps are still operational however it is recommended that when using the Middle Lake Echo boat ramp four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles are used.

Lake King William
It is recommend that four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles be used when accessing the Lake King William boat ramp (at the Butlers Gorge end of Lake King William).

Woods Lake
It is recommended that four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles be used when accessing the Woods Lake boat ramp.

Ramps closed due to low water levels will remain closed until water levels increase to a level that permits safe launching.
Up to date information on access to water bodies managed by Hydro Tasmania is available on www.hydro.com.au/community/recreational-sites.
