NSW Angler Access News
NSW DPI -
It is estimated there are over 200,000 locations where rivers, streams and lakes can be accessed by public land in inland NSW alone. DPI is currently working with the Crown Lands Division, anglers and other river user groups to secure future access to many inland fishing locations accessed by the crown road network. Fisheries staff assess hundreds of road closure applications each year and are making recommendations to the Crown Lands Division on the retention of roads that provide fishing amenity.

Fisheries staff are able to pass information on road closures onto anglers. Anglers are given the opportunity to comment and are able to make their views known on the future of many of these roads. If you would like to receive road closure information please send your name and the areas you would like to receive closures for to angler.access@dpi.nsw.gov.au
