Hi,
Just got back from a few days fishing at a mates Cattle Station up near Middlemount.
Managed 6 Toga over 700mm and there were Sooty grunter in plague proportions. I stopped counting at 30 fish by the second day.
Do you guys know if it is spawning season for the Sooties as they were extra aggresive this trip and seemed full of milt.
Regards

Sooties will be gearing up for the first flows out that way. They need 24 degree water temps and a good flow over a good riffle zone for successful spawning.

Both of those conditions were present so they must have been getting ready.

Sounds like a great trip in a nice spot. How's the guts on the sootie in the photo titled "twitchy 3" like a little basket ball. Great shots of the Togas too. Cheers Pat
