Personal, wearable Video Cameras
« on: June 11, 2012, 02:34:31 PM »
I got bored the other day and put my Go Pro, and my Contour and my new little Tachyon video cameras on the one head strap and had a little wander around the back yard.  I won't tell you what Pam said I looked like, as it wasn't too polite.  Anyway, I thought I get a good comparison of the three.  The Go Pro gives the best footage, although shows some distortion.  It lit up the inside of the shed better than the others.  The Tachyon is the smallest, lightest, cheapest and not waterproof.  It doesn't do a bad job all the same, and does have a feature where it will take a still shot every 3 seconds, so it will get some use.

Anyway, here's the vid.  1st up is the Contour, then the Go Pro then the Tachyon.

Dale

I fish because the little voices in my head tell me to.

Mates and i have tried a few different brands for dirtbike riding. Found the go pro to have awsome quality footage even at speed. Im a fan of the go pro.

Great comparison Dale

Think your shadow with the Go Pro is funny how you can see all 3 on your head

Thanks for sharing.

Be interesting to know what each unit is worth if you could add that.

Put it up in the classifieds.

Basser that's a good comparison. I like GoPro but the audio with the waterproof case is woeful & not much better in the non-waterproof case.

I'm hearing good things about the Vio Pov. Better audio on the Vio, but better video on the GoPro...... IMHO the remote cable with screen might be the kicker for me.....then there's the cost as well

Here's a comparison between Vio Pov & GoPro
