I made my first lure yesterday hand shaped made the hangers & bib all from scratch now is ready for paint. I don't think any lure manufactures should be worried as the cost of time & materials it would retail for around $200 :)) .Anyway it will be ready for the next Cod Trip maybe get me a Greenfish off the surface nothing would be better than that.
Cheers Brad

Brad,
You might want to take a stand at the lure expo Fitzy's got going mate. At $200 per they'll be standing in line. Frank Prokop may call you at any time! I just love Cod on surface lures.

I have been working on a HEAVY DUTY Spinner bait for you blokes. My problem is to find a Cod now to test it on and not a lot of time to do it before the show. And the weather hasn't helped.

Yes but look on the bright side, you can then go fishing or will have the money make another one. By the way Brad, I'm looking forward to the next installment of fishbrain productions. Great stuff.

I will get one just have to off load some stuff in the garage , I made a cod lure as well but I put a stainless steel bib in it so it sinks but it swim great may be a good thing but I think a snag will clam it.

Would stanless weigh anymore than 1.6 aluminium ? if your lure body is boyant enough it should hit snags and float up over them like garra's and mcfeeters and newells :youbeauty

This thing doesn't float slowly sinks to the bottom , but gets down in the zone fast and swims off nicely who knows just have to try it .

Fellas there is a range of hooks,( can't put a name on them), that have the 2 points rather than the 3 of a treble.
I am using them on my large Spinnerbaits as they will spend a lot of time bouncing along the bottom.
The benefit is you can attach them 'hooks up'. Show you how to make them from scratch at the Expo.
