Title: Patience of the Fisherman
Post by: takrat on December 22, 2012, 03:28:18 PM
My patience was sorely tested last week during a 3 day trip to the upper Clarence. We flogged the water into foam for the whole time for just one Eastern Cod caught on a small hardbody meant for Bass. We had a couple of half hearted short strikes and I actually had 2 Bass follow the lure right to the boat, but no hookups. I did however come away with some nice pics to add to my collection of snag shots. During the heat of the day we tended to sit in the water a fair bit and found that some small fish liked to have little chew on our skin. I made sure I left the grundies on just in case things may have got out of hand. Couldn't have that. Not sure what sort of fish they were but I assume they were getting stuck into some dead skin. Sounds a bit gross but I'm told some people pay huge sums of money for that very thing. Don't you just love Australia?
Happy Christmas crew!

Mate it was amazing country all right. It looked so fishy that we had a bit of a dither about what lure to tie on! Just too bad the Bass were shut down. I'll get some pics up later.
