Title: Greedy guts, and Claw Evidence
Post by: Binder on January 15, 2012, 11:09:59 AM
Checking my shrimp pots in Lake Baroon today. First pot I pull in has a spangled perch's head sticking out of a hole on the side of it. Still alive and happy, but stuck solid. The only way he could have got in to the pot is through the hole, so I suppose 3 days of eating my shrimp made him pork it up enough he wouldn't fit back out of the hole!

Interestingly enough the hole in the trap, and the pulled sections of the mesh look very much like redclaw damage. Might have to chuck an opera house pot in there to see what turns up. (My shrimp pots have opennings set at about 15mm)
