Title: Hinze Dam spill might mean a bass bonanza for Nerang Rr
Post by: DavidTR on May 02, 2015, 07:39:49 AM
There is a good spill happening out of Hinze Dam. At this time of the year a lot of bass would be making their downstream migration. I wonder if there will be an explosion of bass in the Nerang Rr like what happended in both the Brisbane below Wivenhoe and North Pine below Samsonvale when the spooled late in the year. Time will tell.

Last big spill from Hinze saw alot of stocked bass end up residing in some of the canal lakes off the Nerang River.

A more pertinent question would be will SEQ Water operate the "fish lift" for those high value stocked fish that have entrained that will be migrating back upstream. Or the endemic native amphidromous and catadromous fish ?
