G'day Fishing Yakkers!!
I will soon be in possession of some paddles that I will be selling through my website. Whilst I am awaiting my first delivery of products I am taking the opportunity to gather some paddlers that would be interested in testing and giving some feedback on them. I am looking for a total of 4 testers with Fitzy already putting his hand up for the one when I asked permission to post this article. In return for your valued feedback (good or bad) you will be able to keep the paddle no strings attached other than the one that is on the handle of course ;D I am happy to post the products free of charge or deliver around brissy. Further details will be finalised once I have the testers in place and a release date for sale a short time after that.
Thanks Fitzy for allowing me the opportunity to ask the members of Sweetwater to undertake this testing. It is appreciated and I am assured quality feedback from top quality people :youbeauty
I guess its a first past the post race with Fitzy securing the first paddle so the next 3 in are winners!!!
These are sit on and sit in specific aswell so please indicate your requirements with your reply. Thanks again Sweetwater Community.
Regards and Thanks

Has a sit in kayak if that one is still available. Travel to Bris most days. Well as few as I can get away with. Otherwise am to be found near Bribie.
Cheers John
-

That looks like an excellent idea. I don't know why someone hasn't thought of it before. If you want a lady's perspective, I'm sure Pam would be happy to try it out on her sit-on. I may even be able to borrow it from her....
-
Aussie,
Consider it done!!! I will throw the extra paddle in so you have one each :thanks Can you let me know which paddle you require sit on or in? Thanks again it is greatly appreciated.
Regards and Thanks

I've seen a few people using ping pong paddles to do the same thing. This looks a bit more dedicated... I like the concept.
Colin do you know what the serations on the blade are for?
-
I think they could be for hooking you by the neck when you cast into my spot!
-
Settle boys ;D
Gotta play fair on the water, maybe spanking but no hooking!!
The patented hook-and-teeth blade design provides unparalleled function. The hook on the top of the radically designed blades affords the paddler the opportunity to grab onto lines, docks, trees, boats, swimmers and life preservers. The teeth on the outside blade edge provide positive contact during any pushing evolution with the paddles.
Hope this helps!!

And here's me thinking the sharp edges were to dig in real deep when you threw them at a jetskier 8) Do they come with an eyepatch and parrot?
-
So what would you actually use it for?
-
Binder,
Thanks for the question :thumb just reading through my original post I neglected to mention the use/benefits of the paddle and for that I appologise.
The paddle comes in handy when you are fighting a fish and need to manouvere your kayak into a better position to fight the fish, it allows the angler to hold the rod whilst moving the kayak thus keeping pressure on the fish eliminating the need to man handle a 7ft paddle.
It has been used in an offshore scenario fighting gamefish off the coast of America.

Cheers Collin. What else do you sell, and whats the url?
-
Binder,
Sorry I missed your question, I currently have the site under maintenance. I am still a very new site so only a small amount of products up at the moment. I am currently sourcing quality products not available currently with in Australia from all around the world and also looking for small manufacturers in Australia aswell. I have quite a good range of Zipper Worm Company soft plastics, Backwater Paddles (ie. the product I am getting tested) awaiting a new line of knotless fishing hooks and lure adapters from Easy2Hook USA. Once I have a good range of products I will post a link up in here. Thanks again and I appologise for the belated reply.

I gave one a test paddle on the Severn River down the bottom of Sundown National Park on the weekend. Was pretty handy especially since there was a good flow in the river. Very light, easy to stow & as I discovered they float nicely as well. :-X
A handy tool for river kayak fishing scenarios.
Cheers,
fitzy..
-
Coincidently I was on the Severn River and found one floating. I also found it handy in slight current, although with some of the spots, no paddle could hold against the current.
-
Thanks Fitz and Aussie,
I appreciate the feedback, glad they were of assistance to you. There are several new developments coming along with new products coming out of the Backwater paddle stable, but have to keep it under my hat for now ;) Cheers again guys I sincerely appreciate the time taken by everyone who put their hand up to test them. I found it to be useful in my 8ft canoe the other day but given my lack of experience in a canoe I would not qualify it as paddling it was more like splash and dash and crash ;D

G'day All,
My appologies for my absence, have been busy with trying to build websites etc. Anyways after about 4 months, 5 websites, Floods and Cyclones I finally have the paddles retailing at www.mylittletackleemporium.vpweb.com.au
There are also a couple available at The Tackle Shop, Carseldine, next door to the Woolworths/Caltex servo heading into the city.
Anyways I have about 4 pages of unread posts to get through now!! Any questions feel free to ask.
Regards and Thanks
Colin
