Suntag News 194

This Golden Perch was tagged at Walla Weir on the Burnett River as part of their monitoring program back in 2008. It was recently recaptured in the Boyne River 5km downstream from Boondooma Dam.
To get there it had to bypass Paradise Dam, Gayndah Weir and Mundubbera Weir along the way.
This is the first fish to have been recaptured upstream past 3 barriers.

Plectroplites ambiguus ? Bill needs to update his references.
One for Dale, first case I have seen of some worthwhile data from a tagged yella stocked outside its natural range. Good example of why they should NOT be stocked in the Burnett system.

Thats right, it should be "yelerus Fishus"  :o

Probably to late if it can go upstream like that Steve, they will be making babies in there for sure!

I think there needs to be more than one to make babies.

Anybody know Peter Luck?

There would be more than one.
Given that only minute fraction of yellas in the system have been tagged most likely a considerable number would have followed their natural instinct and made the same journey upstream.
