hey guys,
I am interested in getting a yak to have a fish in the freshwater creeks and dams, I am a big boy, 115kg but only 170cm short.
sit in or sit on?
what would be more likely to be most comfortable?

Go to an open trial day and try as many as you like to get a feel for what you want .. "I" reckon thats about the best way to find out what you want.

makes sense, how often and where do they tend to hold such days?

Have a look around at the various models that take 150kg plus, so you know what to look for at a trial day. Open days with Sit on Tops seem to come around reasonably regularly, was one at one of the Toowoomba dams last weekend. I've never seen one specifically for sit ins. Have seen some sit ins at the days that have had mostly Sit ons, but not much of a range.
Main issue will be your ability to get in and out of them. I have always steered clear of sit ins because with dodgy knees (and also 115kg) i need easy access. However I saw an "old town" a mate had bought and it had a huge entry area, and with most sit on tops now restricting leg room (with channeling) I'll be looking at something similar to the old town I saw to at least try.

Rosco canoes are holding a fishing kayak CATI at Shorncliffe on March 10
Will be Old Town kayaks there
