Thanks for the heads up Scott.
I must say I was quite disappointed to see the fish stock ordered, very small number of Barra (5000), and a huge amount of bass (75000).

Its a shame to see the barra stocking go by the way, this dam a fantastic barra fishery, being the most southern available, a great weekend trip for us from SEQ, particularly now the camping is finally available.  But it is only one of many bass fisheries.

Binder - There is much debate over this issue & it has been heavily discussed in the past. At present there definitely appears to be more barra being encountered & caught than bass in any case. The FCFSA are committed to managing Lenthalls as a multi species impoundment & believe that it can be done - time will tell .................

I encourage any one with an interest in the management of Lenthalls to join the FCFSA & that way you will have direct input into it's future management.

I've heard both sides of this debate & won't wade into it here.

HOWEVER, I will tell anybody that has a preference to either: -
A - become a member of any group if you wish to play a role or have a say, or
B- send the group a nice letter or email with you thoughts & why.

Ultimately, fish stocking in Qld is driven by community groups who run on a democratic system. Bums on seats & hands in the air is what makes the decisions & decides policy (within Govt guidelines provided).

I encourage everyone to get involved in the own fishing future & applaud all who take the time to do so.  :yourock

Its plain fact that some folks wont get along with others & people may have opposing views. This isnt exclusive to fish restocking, go to you local P&C or junior soccer club, I've seen some doosies there.  :-X
Play the ball, not the man & keep the bigger picture in mind.  :thumbsup

Cheers,

fitzy..
