rdo out the river, farewell lil black somerset :(
« on: September 13, 2011, 07:56:14 PM »
took an rdo today so i could go back out the river in search of a 60cm yella, i managed 15 bass and 2 yellas this morning with the best yella going 56cm and best bass low 40s.  i fixed the old gate up as it was a mess and i done the best i could with bare hands, with a bit of blood loss  :'( i managed to get the gate to 3 strands only with all the messy barb wire removed.. it looks way better and works alot better now too . i left a new business card on the post for a laugh for novice  ;D
i went home for lunch and headed back out around 3pm, all was quite in the first reach that fired this morning so i moved downstream and found the bass biting again , i landed 12 bass with the best going 52 i think  ??? lol i was working the stretch just paddling away when zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz z zzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz twang  :'( :'( i was nearly crying as it ran nearly 40 mtrs non stop before taking me through heavy timber down deep. my lil black somerset lure was gone, it lived a short life and had a head count of 50+ fish  :) guess i can be happy with what it had caught over the weekend and today lol

Wes,

I was going to leave it to at least Wednesday before hitting them again. They went pretty hard there on the weekend . Those timber lures hey..........might have to give the spinnerbaits a rest for awhile.

Cheers,
Dave.

I think I found one of those little lures on Pam's rod.  May have to confiscate it.

i left all the areas that got hammered and headed downstream to enjoy that deeper stretch with boulders along the edge.  ;)  was a nice day out there all alone  ;D
