Doubt I was the first, but got this little bloke around 5:30
Then got a 49cm later on.
-
My first came this morning just before 6, it was my first surface fish from the brissy river too :tick
-
I scored a 55ish cm bass at Lowood during a very quick hit mid morning. Didn't have a ruler, but marked it on the kayak & measured the mark later at 56 so in reality could have been anywhere from 50 up. A nice first bass for the season...
Didn't get a pic, but should have some video from the GoPro when I down load it.
Update - Video on it's way...........
-
This little bloke at 5.43am did land a nice 37cm later on.
-
Dan & I put in at the new launching spot below the dam wall for a late arvo sesh, not a scale. About thirty people fishing in the no fishing zone though, Also picked up a fair bit of rubbish in the carpark.
Cheers Andrew

Did a late avro fish on the Brisbane River and landed three with the biggest being 51cm.
-
Gaz and I were on the water just after 5am. Gaz got the ball rolling with a 54cm (A new PB to start the season). My first catch was a golden. Things went fairly quiet, and then we managed a double hookup on a couple of bass later in the morning.

:Clap) Sounds like UBK may have got the earliest.

Nice one mate!
There is a bloke on FB claiming a 62.5, it is a beast of a bass, waiting on a measure shot.

I wonder what can be done about these issue Andrew raised, the trouble being kayaker will be blamed about the rubbish being in the new launch and surly Fishing in a no go zone should be police by Fisheries.
-
Not sure mate, a couple of points though. The no fishing rule was only in small print on the main sign board at the entrance to the walkway. There was a post next to the launch spot that may have had a no fishing sign on it but nothing on it at the moment. I did notice a camera on a post in the carpark, but this still relies on someone monitoring it & then doing something about any problems observed. I think better signage & a few more fisheries patrols might curb the problem.
Cheers Andrew

1800 017 116 is the number to ring when you see them. If enough people ring they'll ge the message and start running more regular patrols.
-
There was 5 cars at Shines Rd on Saturday. Patrol team could have filled a book C:-)
