Plenty of trout for season opening on 1st August 2015

Thousands of adult brown trout have been transferred from highland spawning streams to other fisheries around the Tasmania this winter to provide exciting fishing opportunities for anglers.

Recent rain and snow will see lakes starting to fill and rivers swollen for the early part of the season. This will allow anglers to target trout as they feed around the edges and inflows.

With much anticipation the brown trout season opens on Saturday 1 August and despite the weather forecast indicating snow on the highlands there are plenty of places to get out and try to tempt a trout.
