Fish sat on the drop off into pools and just on the edges of the rock walls in the eddys. Land one there and it was as good as ate!

Good pics Dick, that's a nice rather pale sooty I think. The backgrounds are bloody great, you can't beat that country after a good shower. Dog looks pretty happy with the place too.
Cheers mate,
John

Great picks Dick. I thought you lived in croc country.
From what I remember even the freshies would go for a dog.

Freshies are fish eaters Gordon, or maybe the odd water bird. The bigger ones will hang around where the creek runs into the lake, they are normally around the two metre mark and sit off in water deeper than a metre mostly. Up the creek itself you're lucky to see anything over a metre. Dog goes looking for the small ones and chases them. Only got bit once ;D

That's exiting country Dick, I haven't spent too much time up there, just a few trips on the Daly.
When I was a young bloke I had the chance to do some hunting for crocks in the Gulf.
You were allowed to back then. We sold the skins down in Cairns for 2' 6" an inch 1' 3" if you had a cut in the belly leather. Not big money for the shooters.
Some years ago I heard the skin buyer's family owned a resort in Cairns, I am still padde a second hand kayak.
It's regarded as one of the last frontiers the territory.

You should pack balloons.
Not for live baits.
Floaties for Dog.

Simply gorgeous pics Dick and think I can hear the sounds of the bush through the pics.
Always look forward to seeing and reading your reports just for the stunning scrub shots.
:thanks
