Big sucker isn't it, nothing but pain and torment in that one. Expect some major environmental damage on the coast and a lot of infrastructure damage.
Fingers crossed it stays up higher than the expected track once it crosses the coast and gives the southern section of the Kimberely a few inches of rain.

Hey Johnny, that's pretty scary stuff right there mate. My daughter is up in Mareeba and she's been on the BOM site all day. people are filling their pants about that storm. Nobody wabts a big red angry bloody thing like that bearing down on 'em
Cheers,
JD

Our thoughts are with those in the north.
CQ floods, SW, SEQ floods then Brissy, now a Cat 5 Cyclone in NQ. A very different year it is.
Stay safe our NQ mates.
Cheers Lyndon

Let's hope and pray the eye crosses in an unpopulated area and not too much devastation elsewhere.
Yes our thoughts are with our NQ cousins that's for sure.

up in the hills here in kuranda, 30km north west of cairns we've come out the other side ok. a few trees down and the generator is running, but nothing compared to what the tully/mission beach area would've copped.
poor kyle, i'm sure he didn't plan for this when he booked his flights...

Was thinking of you yesterday mate. Spoke to Steve Philp (Australian Angling) in Cairns yesty arvo. He was having a swim with his daughter, said it was a great day. He got into his bunker at about 8.00pm for the night.

Dick you might want to give directions of how to get to that Cave you photographed.
It looked like people have sheltered there before.
