I plan on putting in at Shapcott Saturday morning.

I'm new to this "bass" fishing (usually fish salt).  What kind of lures should I use to target wild bass in this region?

I have a few spinnerbaits, 3 inch soft plastics (minnows), surface lures, kokoda g-vibes

I put in at Cribb Park and paddled up to Riverlink yesterday. The water tasted fresh even though its tidal and despite the amount of debris floating in the water I still haven't died yet. The bass jumped all over my lures last week while chasing threadies on a warmer evening but last night, nada, nothing, zippo. Fished from 4 til 8 on a falling tide. Paddle home was interesting as my headlight batteries ran out and the low tide had exposed a lot of rocks midstream. I think I managed to hit them all. Scaring the bejeezers out of me every time.

We had a good day, BJM & YaK Fish joined me for the first day of open season.
The morning started well when I landed a 50 cm on about 5 cast then a little quite by the end BJM managed 3 good size YaK Fish the same (his first ever Bass) and I ended up with 4.
A great day to start.

The day after this session I tried my luck in the Brisbane river, I put it up near lowood region 15 minutes in to the session I got a decent bass 37 cm and then called it quits after losing my spinner bait, that river has a lot of potential
