Since stocking by PRFMA commenced aprox 2 million fingerlings have been released in NPD and about .5% of this figure has been paid by SIP monies..
 Cheers
Ray
That's possibly to do with the fact that Samsonvale hasn't been on the SIP long but your percentage is wrong Ray. In the last 2 years from the SIP the PRFMA has recieved $11 776 in 2012/2013 last year was $13 457. That's $25 251 or roughly 100 000 bass, more if buying perch.
100 000 out of 2000 000 is one in 20 or 5% (not 0.5%). Not a bad effort for 2 years.  :tick

Some Interesting figures
Looking at the 2011/12 SIP permit funds allocation; Samsonvale recieved 2.5% angler preference ticks  :thumbsup , compared to the number of BAS permits there is quite possibly alot of people who fish Samsonvale who may not be in the BAS.
Appox 53 000 anglers purchased SIPS. > Removed the 12.5% who ticked none or all. > Then take 2.5% of the remainder it shows approx 1160 anglers who purchased SIPS ticked Samsonvale.  How many BAS pemits in 2011/12 were issued?

This indicates there may be fishing opportunities that may not be associated with the BAS. It also shows that stocked fish do not recognise the border of the BAS area and go throughout the lake.

Maybe I need to change previous comment re visitors / tourists.....??  :o

PRFMA should see the writing on the wall with the BAS, and be squirreling it away for the future.
A Few years worth in the bank and they would never have to do another raffle.

A weath fund for community groups can make long term gains for short term effort.  :thumb

Clarification
Advancetown ( Hinze) not on sips and permit monies go to stocking group.Pretty certain all go to stocking
Somerset/Wivenhoe on sips and boating acess fees go to SEQ water.
NPD on sips and boating access fees go to PRFMA and used solely for stocking.
The disparity between the number of boating permits sold and the number of people ticking NPD on the sips permit could easily be the number of people who bank fish at NPD from the public areas.I have counted over 80 people fishing from Bullockies of a sunday and until NPD went on the SIP list  those fish were stoked by the PRFMA.
 Cheers
Ray

So PRFMA are the only group which gets SIP funds as well as being able to charge people to launch a boat?

I think it's the same as the Brisbane Valley Sailing Clun having a lease of Hayes Landing at Wivenhoe.

The differences are that Wivenhoe has alternative boat launching and a less restrictive area for boating than Samsonvale.

Would the PRFMA still be considered elitist if they were just a fishing club and included access to their leased area as part of their membership similar to Kilcoy fishing club and Grand Wivenhoe?
But then again if it was not due to the foresight of the founding members of the PRFMA and the Pine Rivers Shire Council there would be no fish there.
After all if you wish to yak or canoe or sail on NPD you are welcome to join the sailing club for only $250 per annum. Similarly you can get access to Kurwongbah by joining their rowing club.
Cheers

Thank you ray

can you also advise where the public boat launching area is and what time does it open? Can I sail and paddle anywhere or is there a no go area?

Released another 13 500 Bass fingerlings into Lake Samsonvale yesterday morning.
Went for a fish off the bank at Kurwongbah (no permit required) jumped off a fair sized Toga and landed a 50 odd cm one, bycatch of half a dozen Bass 25 to 35 all on surface. Might be going out on a limb here but pretty sure there is nowhere else that you are likely to be able to do that. Met a bloke fishing with his son, first time fishing for the boy caught his first fish, couple of Tillies and a Spanglie on worms and a Bass on a lure.

Great stuff.  :Clap) I'd say mission mostly accomplished with Kurwongbah. Good to see kids (ans us big kids too) being able to cattch a fish so close to residential area.  :thumbsup Paddlecraft being permitted would be the cream on the cake.....

50cm saratoga is breeding size!! Hopefully those first dozen that were released  ;) before the official stocking have already been breeding for a year or 3.

As stated previously there is no public boating access to either dam For boating access you casn either have a boating access permit issued by PRFMA and be allowedto fish in the permitted area or join the sailing clun and be allowed in their permitted area.
For kurwongbah join the rowing club or the water ski club ( I do not know what craft the water ski club allow their members to use)
All seq water controlled areas are aprox 6am to 6pm .
Please be advised that all the reswtrictions and regulations are imposed by SEQ water and their forebears and not the PRFMA
All recreational uswe of SEQ waters have been under review for a couple of years now and the public were invited to make submissions.
Whilst I am a proud member of PRFMA ( And other stocking groups and fishing clubs)
I do not speak officially for the PRFMA  and are just stating facts that are available if anyone cares to search on the internet.
Cheers
Ray

My apologies Steve, work has been so busy, I have not helped PRFMA stock a single fish this year.
