Title: upper brissy river final
Post by: dinodadog on June 01, 2012, 06:46:09 AM
Headed to the upper bissy river yesterday for the final bass targetting session. Arrived to a dismal looking river with fog and drizzling rain, lucky the rain never persisted and the weater helped the fishing with the bigger fish moving out of thier hidy holes. Managed close to 40 bass and 3 yellas, with biggest bass going 56cm and a couple more on the 50cm mark. Allcaught trolling cheap lures, also lost 2 lures to strong fish breaking the knot at the leader to line knot. Might have to learn a new knot for next season :-[

Forgot to mention I had a note on my windscreen when I returned to the car it said.

Youre ignorant do not park in gateway it is needed for heavy machinery next time no warning

As you approach the end of track it was the gate on the left, I left enough room to drive a tractor behind me, also nothing has been through that gate for a  long time, and that gate leads to the river bank not to his property.

Sorry about the note.  The guy on the left is quite the diplomat.  Wait 'til you're exposed to his wife in her undies though.  Maybe I'll leave a note on his door next time.  "You're ignorant, you built a fence across our river access!  Next time no warning!"
He doesn't use that gate, he has another gate he uses behind his house.

If he took any heavy machinery through that gate he would most likely topple down the steep bank.

That guy came down to the river not long after I launched on Wed. and launched a tinnie with a young kid aboard and he trolled around for the whole time I was there. I said g'day to him asking if he'd caught any fish (4 small one's) and he seemed alright. Sounds like I was parked in the same spot with mobs of clearance in front but as you say the weeds in front of the gate suggest it has been a long time since it has been opened. Cheers Pat.

They're just trying to be R-Soles and are looking for any excuse to bleat to local council and DERM about "how bad these fishermen are"

I went down a couple of weeks ago & saw someone parked their trailer right at the illegal fence which was a bit average for other anglers trying to turn around at the end & would certainly havemade it difficult for  a vehicle trying to access the private property gates on the right.

We need to keep a clean nose on this spot folks...that means parking to the side of the road (along the fence) well away from the gates. Think of the next person that might come along or the people who live along side, even if they're pedantic. Also absolutely no rubbish left behind, there are people there documenting every bloody foot print left to bolster a lost cause case to have the public blocked out....

On the flip side - it is worth noting that the illegally felled native trees on that site that have been used for fencing has been documented / photograpahed & reported to the relevant authorities.....  C:-)  they should be keeping a clean nose as well.

The tit for tat continues.....
