Title: Bassin' in the lillies.
Post by: estuary girl on March 20, 2011, 10:07:23 PM
After a washout to our plans yesterday to chase some flatties at Viccy Pt. Glen and I met up at Coomera to fish for bass instead. The rain followed me yet again but what's new for me!! ::)
Just worked our way around the fringes with Glen going up the right side and me the left. There was a ski boat practicing but all good and we all worked together.Well we stayed out of his way anyway... ;D
Not alot of attention from the edges but I noticed a swirl on my right in amongst the lill' pads....was using a Betts spin with slider grub in a dark "Pepsi Max" colour so gave it a flick into where I saw the swirl. It no sooner hit the surface and started it's drop when BAM!!! One nice bass roughly low 30's tried to high tail it back into the weeds.Abit of frantic line work to work it around some weedy patches and into the net weeds and all! :thumbsup
After the obligitory pics and ta ta...I kept casting in amongst the lilly pads working the betts around and thru gaps hoping there might be some more lurking. No such luck though.
Had some feathered onlooker's trying to work out who we were. ;D
We paddled up under the bridges and found a fair amount of dirty water coming down from the bank erosion just down from the cement works so just drifted and fished our way back to the launch spot.Glen picked up a good fish too before I got there.
Thanks Glen for the company.
 :thumbsup
Cheers.
